For fans of street shopping, bargain hunters and for buying at more competitive prices and getting to know popular scenes this is an attractive and different alternative to spending days on the beach. The markets close to the campsite are appealing, unique and varied. We would recommend the most noteworthy.
Street Market days
Monday — SABARÍS
At less than 700 metres from the campsite, this market is famous in the region. It sets up along the Avda. de Julián Valverde and offers well-priced shopping after a pleasant stroll. You do not need a car: only enthusiasm to find what you are looking for or be surprised by what you find.
Wednesday— VALENÇA DO MINHO
(30 minutes away) – large market on the border with Valença; varied offer of clothing, household textiles, local produce, basketwork and small furniture. After doing your shopping, you can make an enjoyable visit to the beautiful walled enclosure where the most select shops are hidden.
Thursday — TUI
(25 minutes away) – It is always gratifying to discover the medieval charm of this noble city. Its market, known locally as “los jueves” (Thursdays) sets up in stately Corredera and its surrounding areas, is a delight for fans of street shopping of all types: well-priced clothing, shoes, accessories, fruit and vegetables.
Saturday — VILANOVA DE CERVEIRA
(35 minutes away) – A real labyrinth of market stalls is set-up on Saturdays on the banks of the Portuguese bank of the Miño. Here you can find a varied selection of clothes; it is famous for shirts of excellent quality and design, watches, clearance articles or curiosities.
